BELOVED LET US LIVE AT PEACE

“Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.” Ephesians 4:3 (NIV) Effort is a conscious investment of physical and mental energy, time, and determination toward achieving a goal. It often requires going beyond convenience and comfort, showing deep commitment in order to ensure meaningful results. Effort is intentional. It is the decision to persist, to care, and to contribute actively. In today’s Scripture, we are called to apply this same intentional effort to preserving unity. Unity does not happen automatically; it requires a deliberate and sustained determination to maintain harmony among God’s people.

The Apostle Paul reminds us that unity is sustained through the bond of peace, a spiritual togetherness rooted in love, patience, humility, and mutual respect. Peace is state of being or maintaining harmony with others, and the glue that binds hearts together. Where peace reigns, division weakens. Where peace is nurtured, understanding grows. Choosing peace sometimes requires sacrifice, forgiveness, and selflessness. It requires us to look beyond our differences and focus on the greater purpose that unites us in Christ. Scripture further encourages us: “Let us therefore make every effort to do what leads to peace and to mutual edification.” (Romans 14:19). When we intentionally pursue peace, we build one another up and strengthen the body of Christ. We demonstrate spiritual maturity when we choose reconciliation over conflict, dialogue over discord, and love over pride.

Beloved, unity is not merely an idea, it is a responsibility. It is a daily commitment to protect relationships, nurture understanding, and uphold the peace that the Spirit gives. As we make every effort, the Holy Spirit empowers us to live in harmony and reflect Christ to the world. Beloved, let us love one another and live in peace with each other, for in doing so we reflect the unity of the Spirit and the beauty of God’s family. ✌️
