BE A PARENT TO YOUR PARENTS

IN HONOUR OF THE TWO RATS IN MY HOME, THE BEAUTIFUL AND SMART LADY VANESSA, AND THE HANDSOME AND SMART SIR LESLIE. YOU HAVE BEEN MORE THAN FRIENDS & PARENTS TO ME.

"For God said, ‘Honor your father and mother’ and ‘Anyone who curses their father or mother is to be put to death."
Matthew 15:4 NIV

Sometimes we find it difficult to honour our parents, because we have expectations that they should be perfect in all things.
Instead of being empathetic, we are quick to judge and focus on their faults.

But have we thought about it for a moment that our parents have  not been parents before, and so they may also be on a learning curve, struggling to get their acts together? Experimenting, and trying their very best, but failing sometimes?

Perhaps our parents  also need parenting!!

And you can be that role model to your parent. YES YOU!
You can be a parent to your parents.

You can politely, and lovingly teach them all the things you want, hope and wish they were, by modeling same with your Christlike character.

I encourage YOU to love your parents regardless of their shortcomings. Forgive them, help them, guide them and most importantly strive to make them your friends.

By the empowerment of the HOLY SPIRIT that dwells within you, be A LIGHT, and A BEACON OF HOPE to your parents.

Be the pivot around  which  your parents and siblings revolve.

Oh! Thou Man/ Woman of valour,  arise and let your light  shine.

Pray about this, and try this approach with an open heart, you will begin to enjoy the company of your BELOVED PARENTS.

May the Lord shine His light and wing these words into the home for which this word comes forth.
